Christmas in July, Supporting Adopt-A Family

This event is a fundraiser for Kuna Adopt-a-Family. Last year, The Kuna Stampede was able to adopt a family of seven and provide them with Christmas gifts, much needed household items and even Christmas dinner. We want to increase the number of families we can reach this year so all proceeds of this event will go to that cause. Thus, the Christmas in July theme.

Event FAQ's

  • As a contestant, can I enter the day of the event? There are limited numbers of contestants allowed in each event so advance entries are recommended.  We will accept entries on site IF the slots have not been filled on line in advance.

  • Do I need to bring any equipment? Safety is our priority. If you are a mutton bustin’ contestant, you will be required to wear  a helmet and protective vest. You can use your life vest, bike helmet or catcher’s helmet as long as they are properly fitting. If you don’t have one, we will provide one.

  • Will there food and drinks for sale? Yes! We will have a few different food and beverage trucks on site, and Crooked 8 will have their bar open for those 21 and over seeking adult beverages.  IDs will be required.

  • Where do we park? general admission parking is where spectators, mutton busters and milk cow riders will park and then enter through general admission gates. Contestant parking will be reserved for those bringing horses.

  • Will credit cards be accepted? While Crooked8 will accept cash or credit cards for tickets and bar purchases, we cannot guarantee which form of payment each food and merchandise vendor will accept but there is an ATM machine onsite.

  • What is a Triathlon? A Triathlon is a 3 part event. First the rider breakaway ropes a calf, then immediately completes a barrel pattern, and fun’s home to tie a goat.  It is a blast to watch and compete in?

  • Do I need my own horse? Yes, if competing in barrels, triathlon or flag race, you will need your own horse and equipment.

  • Do we need to bring chairs? Crooked 8 has bleachers, but your own chairs and pop up tents are welcome.

  • What time will each event start? The Christmas in July event begins promptly at 10am with the National Anthem.  There is no way to determine specifically what time each event will start.

  • Can I buy spectator tickets on site? Absolutely, until we sell out! You can also purchase them in advance to guarantee your entrance.

  • What other activities will there be? Shopping, shopping and more shopping! Have your Christmas list ready and get started early with our Cowboy Christmas style vendors!

  • Is there shade? Can I bring an easy up? It will be a hot summer day, so if you need shade, please bring your pop up tents.
